Sustainability

INGREDIENTS

We focus on highlighting single origin ingredients in our beers, where the grain is farmed, harvested and malted locally.

BREWING

Small-batch brewing has overcome many obstacles in the past few years and our owner-operated facility we have uses modern equipment to promote water conservation and recycling during the brewing process. Heat recovery is utilised to maximise power use and spent grain waste is provided to farmers to feed their animals.

ENERGY

We are dedicated to sustainability and protecting our environment. We support renewable energy development in Australia, which is why we purchase GreenPower. This allows us to support Australia’s renewable energy section by displacing our electricity usage with certified renewable energy that has no net greenhouse gas emissions. We are minimising our impact on the environment and this clearly demonstrates that there’s a demand for renewables leading to continued growth, investment and promotion of the renewable energy sector.

PACKAGING

We use small kegs for our fresh beers on tap, light weight cans for takeaways and glass for bottle-conditioned beers. The labelling and packaging are minimalist, using less ink and post-consumer, recycled packaging is used in our few promotional materials.

LOCALITY

Lastly, we are a small, Grampians-based business and most of our beer is sold and consumed within 50km of our brewery. We support local growers, restaurants and merchants as much as possible, all working to promote a thriving and creative Grampians culinary scene.
